Plantar Fasciitis

You get out of bed and take that first step only to be jolted wide awake with a ripping stabbing pain in the heel of your foot!  This is a classic sign of plantar fasciitis.  At Live Well Chiropractic in Chatswood, we have helped many people with this painful foot condition.

We take a holistic approach to plantar fasciitis.  We look at you from head to toe to find the cause of your condition.  Most commonly plantar fasciitis stems from improper biomechanics of the foot, but can also be caused further up the kinetic chain in the knee or hip joint.  More recently we have also been finding connections between plantar fasciitis and problems within the nervous system.  This makes us unique in our approach and we think this additional form of treatment improves the results people are getting with our Sydney Plantar Fasciitis treatment.  This is why our plantar fasciitis examination includes not only the foot, but also the knee and hip joint and nervous system.

What happens after my examination?

Once your plantar fasciitis examination is complete, we will give you some exercises and advise to help begin the process of helping you to manage the condition.  We will study your test results and prepare a plan of action to go through with you on your next visit.  The plantar fasciitis treatment we provide is designed to help you feel better as quickly as possible.

What kind of treatment do you offer?

We have various types of treatment, including Orthotic therapy, stretching, massage, and more recently we have now included Quantum Neurology which addresses any sensory nerve problems associated with the plantar fasciitis.

What is plantar fasciitis?

There is a band of connective tissue that runs from the sole of your foot to the ball of the foot.  This band of connective tissue can become inflamed for various reasons.  Some reasons include flat feet, changes in weight, being on your feet, poorly designed shoes.

How long does it take for plantar fasciitis to go away?

Every case is different, but our experience suggests most people are feeling better in a few visits once the sensory and motor nerves are restored with Quantum Neurology.

To prevent plantar fasciitis from re-occurring, we may recommend long term strategies such as stretching, changing foot wear or orthotics.
